The seminar is focused on the human perception of architecture as a sequence of successive stimuli.

This understanding of architecture became particularly relevant from the middle of the last century. Here, the similarities to the medium of film often sparked ideas and served as a reference to describe the perception of architectural phenomena. Building upon this connection, the course focuses on the design of architectural sequences in which particular attention is placed on spatial transitions, the connection of spaces, as well as gaps between them. The way of working is characterized by large-scale interior models, which provide the architectural environment of short films. The development of the architectural design and the cinematic translation takes place as a cooperation between the Technical University of Munich, Chair of Architectural Design and Conception, Prof. Uta Graff and the Hochschule für Film und Fernsehen Munich.
